  • The Most (unintentionally) Funny Movie Ever Made!

Ugh, this is just trash from start to finish. It’s just a series of cliches crammed together and held up by some of the worst acting you’ll ever see. It’s a perfect time capsule of the 70’s. You’ll laugh from start to finish. From the killer Jawas to the Gom Jabbar, it’s all ripped off here. The spheres are supposed to be scary, but when it drills into a forehead and sprays gallons of blood everywhere, it kinda loses its menace. One extra star for the beautiful Cuda.

All the good parts are in the trailer. It's not that scary and more than a little campy. It's good for that retro/nostalgia quality but that's about it.

This is a 70's horror movie so I expected more. It was so slow in parts that I almost fell asleep. The acting is bad and the whole thing is just cheesy. Rent if you must.

Phantasm is one of my favorite horror movies. Anytime that I've ever watched it on VHS or DVD in the past, I thought it had a soft look with intentionally muted colors. I figured that was due to it being filmed in the late 1970's on a small budget. When I saw it available on iTunes newly restored, I figured I'd check it out since it's been unavailable on home video for many years. My first impression was that whoever did the restoration work loves this movie. Phantasm looks and sounds amazing. Colors are bright and the image is sharp. The sound is a huge improvement as well. I couldn’t believe this was the same movie that I’ve seen countless times before. Truly an incredible upgrade from any previous versions I’ve ever owned before. If you are a fan of this movie, do yourself a favor and buy it. Even if you already own it on DVD, it's well worth the upgrade. You won't be sorry.

This was and still is one of my favorite horror films! I remember watching this on tv in the early 80's as a little kid, it scared the heck out of me! I'm happy so much effort went into restoring it and bringing it back.

It's been a long time since I've watched Phantasm. It's been years. It's been decades! I remember practically nothing from this film. The one thing I do remember is that it freaked me out! It came to iTunes at just the right time. 'Tis the season to be terrified after all. It's Halloween season after all. I have no idea how this will affect me as an adult, but I'm sure that this will help bring out the kid in me.

I can't believe the whole Phantasm collection is now available on iTunes!! I've been waiting for an HD release of the first film for years. It's just one of a handful of classic horror films. I don't care how campy some of them are, I love them all. I've NEVER pre-ordered anything from iTunes because there's really no point in it but I did this time. I pre-ordered Phantasm, Lord of the Dead, Oblivion and of course Ravager so my collection will be complete. I've had Phantasm 2 since it came out on iTunes a few years ago. I always wondered why iTunes didn't at least have the original Phantasm available for download even if it was only available in a standard definition format, but things like that aren't up to iTunes, they're up to the studios that own the movie rights. People always complain to Apple about movies that aren't available on iTunes but they have nothing to do with what's available. It's like getting mad at my microwave for having a flat tire.......it makes no sense!! Unfortunately, there will be no more Phantasm movies. Angus Scrimm has passed away and NOBODY can fill the Tall Mans shoes but him. My advice, all of the Phantasm movies are worth a watch for die hard horror fans. Coscarelli has stuck with his Phantasm franchise and he was determined to give all Phantasm fans the final piece of the story!! Oops, it's 12:01, time to go watch them!!
