Chris E {as I call him} was always pretty funny, but not for everyone. I consider "Cabin Boy" a minor classic of sorts, and while his production has been uneven, he always had potential. Season 1 and 2 of Eagleheart were pretty funny, unique, but clearly of an 'odd' and absurdist type of humor that wasn't going to appeal to everyone, but should appeal to most fans of comedy, some of whom would likely appreciate it's originality and approach a lot. Four episodes into this season, for whatever reason, in my opinion, this is the most amazing seasonal upgrade to a comedy show I've ever seen. This is brilliant, hilarious, original stuff - and the shame of it is, it will go largely unrecognized in pop culture. Were I a powerful studio exec I'd try to get a movie based on this season, and keep the important involvement of Ross and O'Brien. Obviously, I'm a nobody and it's just my opinion, but early in Season 3 of this series, I think they've really done something impressive here in terms of television comedy or sitcoms. I'm no Chris Elliot fanboy, and the result here is probably not all his doing, but my humble opinion is that, at least through the first 3 or 4 episodes, absolutely brilliant, new, and original television comedy.
