The philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre distinguishes between the "for-itself" (pour-soi) and in-itself (en-soi), with the former being consciousness capable of projecting itself toward and creating a future that does not yet exist, while the en-soi is the "sticky" thingy aspect of the human, qualities which we attribute to ourselves and others usually in order to avoid facing the "monstrous" freedom and responsibility that is the human predicument. Well Eagleheart takes up where Sartre left off, for each week, Chris Elliot, Brett Gelman, and the rest encounter their -- and our -- most bizarre existential fantasies and fears. As Pogo so deftly put it, "we have met the enemy, and he is us!" Note: Due to its graphic violence and strong sexual content, this show is not recommended for children.
