Description

Better Things is the story of Sam Fox (Pamela Adlon), a single mother and working actor with no filter, raising her three daughters, Max (Mikey Madison), Frankie (Hannah Alligood) and Duke (Olivia Edward) in Los Angeles. She also looks after her mother, Phil (Celia Imrie), an English expatriate with questionable faculties who lives across the street. Whether she’s struggling to keep her daughters close or trying to push one of them out of the nest, Sam approaches every challenge with fierce love, raw honesty, and humor. At the end of the day, Sam’s just trying to earn a living, navigate her daughters’ changing lives, survive her family, have fun with a friend or two, and also – just maybe – squeeze in some private time.

Great family drama with modern day personalities. Funny and sweet characters, hope to see many more seasons!

Falling in love with these characters as they navigate life's messes. I particularly love the scenes showing Adlon's single parenting of teenagers who say truly cutting things to their mother but still need her love. Worth noting: every single main character is female. ❤️

This show is continuously allowiwing abusive behavior, especially by the main character. To her mother, to her boyfriends, to whoever she wants. As if it is cool or understandable. Sure, she is the most loving and cool and understanding mom, but she treats other people like trash. Just imagine, her kids pushing her into a home accross the street, and slipping up to see her brother and lleaving her behind. it's amazig how adults think they can treat their elders or siblings like crap, but ask them to imagine being treated that way by their kids when they get older. Very selfish ad dysfunction show Get outside of JUST being a mom. We still should be treating strangers and boyfriends and parents with respect.

The first season was too good to take in all at once. I already bought my season pass. I can't wait to watch every episode this season. She was great in Louie, but Better Things is the perfect vehicle to showcase Pamela Adlon and all of her talents!
