Description

In the mid-2000s, Wall Street was booming: record high bonuses, multimillion-dollar salaries, a skyrocketing housing market. But in 2008, it all came crashing down--and brought the U.S. economy to the brink of collapse. From Oscar(R)-winning director Curtis Hanson and based on Andrew Ross Sorkin's bestseller comes this gripping drama about the financial crisis of 2008 and the inner sanctum of men and women who decided the fate of the world's economy in a matter of a few weeks. Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Federal Reserve Bank of New York President Timothy Geithner are three of the figures who played key roles in preventing a global meltdown unlike anything seen before.

Brilliant, and important movie. Thank goodness the overall events portrayed in this movie worked out like they did. As I write this the Dow and S&P 500 have hit all-time highs, Warren Buffett has just created a twitter account, and I still have a job. No doubt we would have been in a much worse place today had Paulson, Bernanke, Buffett, and others not taken the actions shown in this movie.

I read the book "On the Brink" by Hank Paulson and couldnt put it down. I followed this crisis night and day. I am not a big reader but this book wowed me with what went on behind the scenes and how close our civilization as we know it was to collapse. This movie was a spot on depiction of the book. The actors chosen to represent the key character figures were spot on. I have already seen this movie 100 times and I still love it

It made me aware of the politics and the ugliness that goes with it.

Too Big To Fail was amazing to watch. The actors gave a very humanistic view into the big names of the 2008 meltdown. Highly recommend this movie.

This movie is great, just don't make the mistake of thinking it tells the entire story of the housing crisis.
