This movie doesn’t fit in any Nightmare on Elm Street film, if anything it’s a teen ware wolf movie with Freddy Krueger as its guest star. There’s not really a reason not to skip this movie, because the real sequel to the first film is “Dream Warriors”, and compared to “Freddy’s Revenge” it’s a lot better. And what exactly WAS “Freddy’s Revenge”? Aside from killing more children of Springwood, his real lust for vengeance should be with Nancy, instead she is only mentioned in the movie, never seen. And going back to the “Ware wolf/Freddy” thing, I’m sorry, but that’s the dumbest idea EVER! I wanna feel sorry for Freddy, but it’s easier just to laugh, because story wise, he was an idiot for thinking it’s cool for a middle aged man to play body hop with a troubled teenager, especially when there was a love connection with his wannabe girlfriend. Really, love is not for Freddy, even young love, it was one of the things that ruined it for me. I said it before and I’ll say it again, this is a terrible sequel, and does not fit very well in the franchise. It doesn’t even feel like a sequel, Friday the 13th part 2 did a WAY better job than this. Probably why Jason enjoyed decapitating him in “Freddy vs Jason”.

A beautiful and unexpected turn for the series, probably my favorite of the sequels along with the 3rd film (counting New Nightmare as a sort of reboot). This movie is highly underrated, its only flaw being that there aren't enough characters and we could perhaps use one or two more dream sequences. I love the idea of Freddy praying on an emotionally drawn in boy, scared of his own enclosed sexuality, and using him to literally re-enter the real world. People don't get that, and I think the idea is that Freddy was left with less than enough power at the end of the first film, forcing him to have to use this innocent and lovable teenager character as a bridge into our world, to make the children afraid again. It is also the last time Robert Englund's Freddy is truly nightmarish, where his face is usually hidden in darkness, forcing us to recoil when we see his burned face. His voice combines both excellent computer tech for the time and the wonderful and convincing acting of Englund. This was before he became a goofball, and this is when Craven's imagining for a terrifying monster truly took off as an iconic creature of the night. The cast is superb, and there really is only one scene I'd take out (the bird part) which is a nice change seeing as all the films that followed had scene after scene that made me roll my eyes. I wouldn't miss this one.

I love Freddy Krueger movies but this was the worse to watch! The plot seemed interesting but it's starts off extremely slow! It's not entertaining or scary, at all!

I went to target yesterday. And I bought A Nightmare on Elm street 1 through 4, and only paid $10.00 bucks. That's like, $2.50 a movie in the pack. If you read this..... Don't waste your $$$$!! iTunes is ripping you off!!

This sequel in my mind is acceptable. But the third installment in the series is better. I think the producers were in a rush to release a second film for money reasons. And it grossed more than the first. But hey, that doesn't mean it is good. Freddy is creepy, but Jesse is kind of weird. Not the hero type. Worst acting out of all of the films. But, standing alone, the film is creepy. The pool party scene scared me. If you are a fan of the series, you have to see it.
