Description

Ten-year-old Meggie's father, Mo "Silvertongue" (played by Brendan Fraser -- the "Mummy" franchise, "Journey to the Center of the Earth"), has a wonderful talent: When he reads aloud, the characters literally come to life, an ability he discovered when several terrible creatures sprang to life while he read from the story Inkheart. Silvertongue not only read several wicked characters out of the book, but he also read her mother in! He has been struggling to bring her mother back -- and now the evil Capricorn (Golden Globe-nominee Andy Serkis - "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, "King Kong") plans to find a way to steal this amazing power for his own dark plans. Also starring, Paul Bettany ("A Beautiful Mind," "Firewall"), Academy Award and Golden Globe-winner Jim Broadbent ("Iris," TV's "Longford"), Eliza Bennett ("Nanny McPhee," "The Prince and Me") and Academy Award, Golden Globe and Emmy-winner Helen Mirren ("The Queen," TV's "Elizabeth I").

This movie (although released a long time ago I still have to write this) is absolutely terrible. Not only did they completely fail at portraying most characters (including Capricorn which the whole plot revolves around) they added new ones who should’ve never been there. I have no idea how the screenwriter could’ve thought it to be a good idea to give Dustfinger a wife and kids and Teresa her voice back, not to mention making the reading of things out of books much to easy when in the actual book it was described as being random and uncontrollable. Everyone was too straightforward when the whole book basically revolves around people keeping secrets. I have to say one of the worst things was that they made Meggie write the ending for the shadow!!! They didn’t even give Fenoglio his grandchildren, and Elinors books were burned when Capricorn’s men first came rather than when she went back home. There is so much wrong with this movie and if you actually read/cared about the book I would not waste your money to see this disgrace. It is absolutely terrible and I’m sorry I watched it, that’s 2 hours I’m never getting back.

I have read ink heart and had expected the movie to be better than it actually turned out. First of all, the acting overall was disgraceful. They showed no true emotion what so ever Secondly, the script itself was poorly written and the actors made it no better. Finally, The movie was a bore thanks to the reasons I stated above. I would advise you to not wast your time on this movie,

I've read the book. You must understand that they must change things to make a movie into a movei so ..... But i admit some of the things that they left out would have made it even better. Over all i love the movie and book. The acting is superb!
