Description

Harper, the wisecracking private investigator, goes to New Orleans to help out an old flame, Iris Deveraux. After the murder of her mother- in-law, someone implicates Iris and attempts to blackmail her. Harper has more suspects than he needs - Iris' sixteen-year-old Lolita-esque daughter, a former chauffer, a businessman and his kinky wife, and even Iris herself. What he uncovers is a web of tangled affairs and distractions all clouded by the murky water of the drowning pool.

  • Solid movie--but where's 1966's Harper?

Paul Newman is king and he's typically strong in this follow up to Harper. I wish iTunes had that 1966 gem available. That film was a classic combination of mystery, comedy and Paul Newman at his best!

A mildly interesting diversion…that was my impression as well. If you are a Paul Newman fan that is all it is. If you are looking for something truly outstanding, you will not be satisfied with this little piece. I recommend it to those who are curled up on the couch with a BIG bottle of wine on a Friday night with nothing to do, nowhere to go and no one to distract you.
  • Paul Newman - Private Eye

A good movie, Paul Newman is always great on the silver screen. This movie has some shooting, fighting and dying as most private eye films do. Remember this film was made in the 1970's so it is going to be more on reality than new films.
