I have not seen this movie in years. This was one of Vincents best movies. I love the dark humor and the way he gets revenge on his critics.

Price finally gets his chance to stick it to his critics -- in the character of Edward Lionheart. Price himself was typically described as a ham actor, and watching him do a send-up of that real-world critique, all the while taking vengeance on critics themselves is a devilish, undeniable pleasure. As the film progresses, Price seems to be having more and more fun (his disguise as a gay hairdresser with a huge red afro is hilarious). A top-notch cast of British film character actors is on hand, including Price's soon-to-be-wife Coral Browne. Diana Rigg provides the eye-candy as Price's daughter. The fencing scene alone is worth the price, but there's so much fun in this one that it rewards repeated viewings. No familiarity with Shakespeare is required, but your enjoyment will certainly be enhanced if you are. If you are a fan of the great Mr. Price, this is one you won't want to miss.
Kindly to judge...

I've loved this one since I was a kid watching it on late-night TV -- even before I could appreciate the dozens of Shakespeare references. There's a mordant wit that equals that of the Doctor Phibes films, and Vincent Price is obviously enjoying himself throughout. What a blast.
give it a go!

A classic horror film, "Theater of Blood" features Vincent Price at his best. Even though he's playing a homicidal, hammy actor, getting to hear him recite Shakespeare is a real treat. The offending critics he offs are hilarious, the deaths creative, and the movie is directed with a real sense of fun.

Take that you know it all critics. Perhaps one of the best horror films of the 70's and definitely one of Vincent Prices greatest creations. Don't be scared off by the Shakesperean theme of the movie, as he begins eliminating his critics one by one in ever devious ways you won't care anyway. If you are a poodle lover! best skip this one.... nough said.
