Description

To be a fan of The League, you don’t need to know much about fantasy football, or sports at all. You just need to have friends that you hate. FX’s ensemble comedy follows a group of old friends in a fantasy football league who care deeply about one another – so deeply that they use every opportunity to make each other’s lives miserable. The League features an ensemble cast of rising actors/comedians. Mark Duplass plays “Pete,” the perennial league champ who is struggling to become an adult. Stephen Rannazzisi is “Kevin,” a happily married father and commissioner of the league. Nick Kroll plays “Ruxin,” who believes he is the smartest of the group but can’t figure out how exactly the other guys are screwing him over. “Andrew,” played by Paul Scheer, has continued to be the punching bag of the group since their high school days – a fact that hasn’t changed despite the fact he is now a successful plastic surgeon. Jon Lajoie is “Taco,” Kevin’s little brother, a part-time musician and full-time stoner with little interest in fantasy other than hanging with his buddies (whom he struggles to remember). Katie Aselton plays “Jenny,” Kevin’s wife and his better half – especially when it comes to Fantasy Football.

Would've of been great if this show came out after the TV show friends. 2013 C'mon. Taco is an insult of a character to comedy. Here's a line for next season….. Taco, why are you eating dirt. Dirt? I thought it was cinnamon. Such a fantastic cast!!!...with amateur writing. Only reason i watched this season is because there is absolutely nothing else on. If this material is on TV, anything is possible. Great cast.

I'm paying to see The League on iTunes because I don't want ads. Leave the FX logo in a subdued place on top of the video throughout the show, but don't waste 20 seconds of time at the beginning and end to tout your other shows which I don't watch. Stop the ads.

Doesn't matter if you like football, fantasy football, or sitcoms. This show is well cast, just ad lib enough to be spontaneous, and overall the funniest show from episode to episode. Previous seasons were better, but this is still a cut above mot sitcom tv. Can be offensive to my wife but she is pretty sensitive. Chalupa batman MacArthur. Classic. Others are right though, lose the nfl players, most of them can't act for ...

  • Disappointing now

This show used to be really funny and also cool at the same time because of the things that happened with the League and everything but now this is just about sex jokes and the shenanigans that they pull on each other. The actual League might get 4 minutes of focus out of the episode now while they just rinse and repeat with jokes from older episodes.
  • Paying for commercials

If you pay for these episodes beware that FX is putting commercials at the beginning and end. I love the show, but I'll find another way to watch it in the future.

I like this show but please stop having so many pro football players make guest appearences. Yes, it is a show about a group of friends centered around their fantasy football league but that's just a maguffin. And those pro athletes are such awful actors! Talk about sucking the life out of a scene! It's like someone drops a sack of wet crap onto the floor anytime one of them pops onscreen.
