Southland, Season 3

This is not really a review and more of a gripe. This is my favorite TV and deservingly gets 5 Stars. What I want to know is why is it when I am streaming my purchases from my Apple TV is the theme song to show different? I'm so confused and angry. This is not the epic theme song that the show has and whatever is playing is crap. Why is this? I haven't been able to find information anywhere.

Why on Earth has iTunes decided to give us the censored version? It did not do that with previous seasons, but in this one the conversations in one of the most realistic cop shows are continually punctuated by *bleep* *bleep* *bleep*… Then they wonder why people pirate TV shows instead of buying them...

I love Southland!! Awesome show and great characters!

Southland is my favourite police series. It's like Shields like, but with more realistic, often almost documentary type of action. However, it's not usually about boring everyday work, but instead it's showing many extremes of police work, I believe. Southland is so good I got a U.S: iTunes account and gift cards just to watch the Season 3, because our local TV is still showing Series 2 episodes.

What this show exhibits is we deal w a stressful, intense job by turning into humans after our shift is complete, Police work is truly the greatest show on Earth, we have a front row seat to the worst in society and of Good Cops don't have an outlet to take it down, eventually flaws come out, and we hide it or attempt to as long as possible. I wld say 100% of the time a partner will see it and as long as off duty shenanigans don't jeopardize safety we tend to disregard as normal because good cops always appear in control to the Public until sum dirt bag catches a beating that catches an indictment and that's usually when family realize there is a real problem, Southland hits this outta the park, Cops cope w issues everyday that wld send most into dysfunction. We joke at homicide scenes ( black humor play cruel and unusual practical jokes on one another most have extra marital affairs because there really is badge groupies and our families sometimes javelin sum mixed nuts in them too, thus some turn to alcohol and of not controlled this and women is the biggest factor in a Cop not collecting his Golden Ring, the Pension. Again Southland shows the Centurians attacking societies problems and how they cope without really consciencly thinking I almost got killed, it's tough on the body to be in a constant state of Orange, yet the adrenaline junkies know only High speed low drag. And sometes we will argue w a mouthy perp because of the insanity going in all aspects of our lives but public thinks that's wrong we'll I say it's better then cobra strikes w my asp or my PR 24. Cynics get the best of us in Depts like LA Chicago and NYC and tons of other cities and us vs you mentality sets in. My entire point is Southland shows the Public things we don't want them to see because they won't understand why we do what we do , myself I still look forward to going to the station house or now responding to investigate real crime 17 years in the trenches and another 5 as an Army MP prepared me from a cops worst enemy and that's ourselves. I am beyond fair, take my 8 hrs plus as serious as a Drill Instructor teach and correct my new Centurians consummate tactical errors and empathize with my fellow man realized as an MP if you always have a psychological and tactical advantage while relating and maintaining tact, 99 % of even most hardened cats won't try you and while I'm smiling I'm already 3 moves ahead of u makin sure my partner is at least is in step w them this show is by far the most realistic Cop ( which stands for Constable on Patrol, which most nvr knew and most Cops nvr care to know. A wise ole Sgt told me when I was a wet pup, Son, s long as you know Women and Alcohol will jam u up and be it downfall as almost all Cops who get jammed has an issue w 1 of the 2 if not both u will make it. That said Ben will start to change more next season and while his former training officer couldn't hold my gun belt he portrays the Cream while on tour anyone that works for me knows I'm comin to there call asap if they r in a bad way but I've been the Capt of Major Crimes now for 5 years and that is only cause I wished to set examples for the next torch bearer as I am the Officer you want responding to any incident involving your family because I Care and if you don't I get rid of you lazy cops go to bad admin jobs I won't have it because we have enough deadly issues to deal w a cop shouldn't be another.. Remember guys that get it won't issue tickets. Nor will we harass our tax base because they r my eyes and ears sometimes I have bad days. But I always wish to change perception to the weary because they had a bad experience w a peck a wood I wanna walk away w you believing what I stand for w out telling u that simply portraying it. Most importantly and it is first rule of law enforcemnt that's go home at shift change in. 1 piece and my officers or subordinates as well. My Son is a probie and now I've actially worry on shift and that's not focus but on road is. Complete focus. Lastly the way the LAPD is portrayed here is 100 % correct even toned down a bit possibly. They ate more militant then any large city dept in the USA they r professionals they are educated, I know I wish my Dept was as squared away as they seem we don't get the caliber recruit like they do. To the guy who ran his trap about the 2 female DTs together well it's tough when u don't like it partner and that is how they come across to me actually they r excellent actors . Only other show that was as realistic was the wire but that was HBO. To my brothers in blue stay safe stay sharpe stay alive...

Man NBC totally blew it in canceling the show from their network just to for TNT to pick it up just like the old saying goes "one mans trash is another mans treasure" if the executives at NBC kept this show it would have put them on the map but nooooo they felt it was to explicit for it's audience the NBC fat cats don't know a good show even if it bites them in the behind how explicit can this show be I live in the urban parts of L.A. & Southland is at real as it gets even my mom likes the show because if you leave in the parts of L.A. where it is not best to be out late at night by yourself than you can relate to it I can see Regina King being nominated some time in the future for best leading actress in a drama series that's when NBC is truly wanna kick themselves in the head
