This modern retelling of the Superman mythology continues to blend realism, adventure, and emotion into an exciting action series. Years ago, a meteor shower rained destruction on the unsuspecting citizens of Smallville, Kansas. From this tragedy grew Clark Kent (Tom Welling), whose transition from boyhood to manhood was particularly difficult as he came to grips with his emerging superpowers. In the eighth season of Smallville, after the death of his longtime nemesis Lex Luthor, Clark will be at a crossroads — and closer than ever to becoming the superhero of legend. Spending more time in the big city of Metropolis, Clark will encounter new challenges and new faces — friend and foe — as he begins his career at the Daily Planet. Characters from every corner of the DC Comics universe will appear, including Doomsday, the only character who is able to kill Superman. The series also stars Allison Mack, Erica Durance, Aaron Ashmore, Cassidy Freeman, Sam Witwer, and Justin Hartley.
