New Outer Limits began life as part of Showtime's Sci-Friday line-up. From the start, it was intelligent, well-written and filled with in jokes. (Every NOL episode has a hockey puck hidden somewhere.) When Stargate SG-1 came along, the two series often shared elements -- and the Gou'ald symbiotes fly unfettered in NOL's Rite of Passage. New Outer Limits episodes contain nudity and "adult language," so alternate scenes were shot for syndication. iTunes' versions are unedited originals, if "Revival" is any indication. And who picked these so-called "best" episodes, anyway? My Toy Poodle would've picked the following fan favorites in all their Showtime glory: 1) The Beholder -- poetic and weird 2) Mary 25 (Gratuitous robot nanny; but hey, Joey's a guy!) 3) Music of The Spheres -- poetic and poignant 4) Rite of Passge -- lovely penguin talking aliens with Heart Please give us the COMPLETE New Outer Limits Seasons 1-7 ! I'd buy them all! Kayla

In one of the few original series episodes to be adapted for today's technology, this has become one of my favorite episodes of the series. Leonard Nimoy returns - but as Thermon Cutler, the cynical, retired attorney rather than the news reporter roll he played in the original. Doctor Link has created the first "synthetic human" and named him Adam Link. (a name later used by Coleco for it's computer modem). The university has cut back on his research funding, but the military (always looking for a nice, shiny new weapon) is more than eager to step in to take their place. The robot is intelligent, extremely strong, adaptable and is quite self-aware. Unfortunately for the military, Adam has picked up the emotional characteristics of his creator - a kindly inventor who only wants to help people and improve life for all of humanity. These traits hardly fit the military ideal, so Doctor Link is ordered to remove this emotional bias and make Adam more pliable to their needs or loose his funding. The good doctor attempts the unthinkable - with deadly results! Is this simply a case of machinery gone amuck or the results of a synthetic human simply reacting to outside circumstances?

I'm very glad to finally see the new show on iTunes, but I must say I would rather see it listed as complete seasons than what they choose as the best episodes. How do they know what episodes we think are the best. I want the whole series...
