The premiere kicks off in present-day Stars Hollow, where Lorelai still runs the Dragonfly Inn (and chugs coffee like it’s water) and Rory, now 32, has experienced some career success. As Rory works through job-related struggles and Lorelai deals with some unresolved issues of her own, viewers will see how Emily Gilmore has been handling the loss of her dear husband, Richard. gilmore girls was literally my favorite show but i did not like the way the series ended so i decided to watch a year in the life. it was not good. the story lines were ruined and every character that u knew and loved was different or their lives were messed up (ESPECIALLY RORY!!!!). AND THE ENDING!!!!!!!!!!!! U CANT JUST DROP A BIG BOMB LOKE THAT AND THEN NOT MAKE ANOTHER TV SERIES LIKE THATS JUST MESSED UP. and April, she only reappeared once and when she did, she was totally crazy and her life was kinda falling apart at college.

The show wasn’t what some might expected. But I completely love it. Real. Not a fairytale. Amazing job to everyone, for a short period they had.

Gilmore Girls is one of the best tv shows to ever exist. Not only was it ahead of its time, but it was pure magic. I wish I could say the same about the revival series...A Year in the Life was a complete and utter disappointment. I’m not sure what happened to Amy Sherman-Palladino, but she completely missed the boat on this one. Beloved characters were ruined and storylines were destroyed. There were way too many fat jokes and I couldn’t help but feel like there was an imposter writing the scripts. If you love the original series, don’t watch A Year in the Life! The only reason I gave it two stars was because the performances were still great.
