If you're expecting an academy award wining film, this is definitely not it. If you are looking for a movie that's entertaining and doesn't slow down, than this is a great flick. I have watched this movie several time, and can honestly say I enjoyed it every time.

I can not give this movie even a 1 star. But in order for my review to be posted I have to give it a star. I have read the books, to many things are wrong. The names of some of the characters are wrong, Thomas wards mother can't step out in daylight (cloudy grey weather included), Alice's mother absolutely hates her own daughter. Honestly, I am severely sadden and angry of how this movie turned out. The mistakes aren't little, if anything they are huge. The Spook is not a drunk!!!! I have yet to read book 12 so I can't point out anymore mistakes.

This movie was based off of a series of books. It was horribly portrayed, and barley anything was accurate to the books. So I would have to say this movie was awful.
  • Harmless fun

I have a feeling that if they had casted a 14 year old boy, it might have gotten a better rotten score. Casting Ben Barnes puts this movie into a more serious light (although its totally light) and the critics took it apart. Anyway, a movie like this will never be a critical darling, but your young teen will enjoy it and won’t care.
