Description

Smart, handsome, and charming, there is no one who could say no to college senior Sam. But when a surprise tuition bill leaves him thousands of dollars in the hole, Sam is forced to think outside the box. Convincing his three roommates they can make a killing exploiting the gullible church crowd, the guys start a sham charity and begin campaigning across the country, raising funds for a cause as fake as their message. But when sweet tour manager Callie, the object of Sam's affections, discovers their ruse, it's Sam's moment, alone in the spotlight, to decide what he really believes.

  • Don't be offended...

If you have the context, this is wickedly funny (read: satire) but then turns on its heel and delivers something deep. I don't really like "Christian" movies. This is the first movie with a "Christian" theme that I totally connected with. This isn't Mother Angelica, it's about frat boys so expect some language and attitude. My guess is that those who don't like it were either offended and missed the point or haven't had close contact with the past decade of Evangelical Christian culture (in which case many of the jokes may fly past your head). Funny, authentic, the last few lines are good to chew on for a long time coming.
  • It’s a let down...

Man, I was REALLY excited about this movie after seeing the trailer. The satire seemed to be sharp, the cast looked great, and none the characters seemed to fit into the “Super-Christian” role that you see in so many movie tropes. That said, the story is a real let down and none of the characters seem fully developed. For example, other than the fact that these four guys all were in the same fraternity, we never really get any good reason for why they’re all in this crazy scheme to begin with. Near the end of the movie, it dawned on me that I didn’t really know all of their names, and it didn’t even bother me. I really liked the heart of what Bakke was trying to do here, but the end result is a pretty flat story.

This movie started with a great premise and leads you to believe it's a comedy. About half-way through it turns into an after-school special, though. I was disappointed.
  • Already watched it twice :)

With incredible actors and a clever script, these new filmmakers had my sister and l quoting lines for days afterwards. The storyline was engaging, characters well-developed, and production incredible. I am super impressed with the final product! Bravo, boys. Well done!

Have you ever seen a modern, relatable, Christian satire film? Your answer would probably be no. The honest truth is, there aren't many Christian satire films out there. Yet, here we have a satirical, comedic, and dramatic movie. The first half of the movie is extremely funny, I felt myself constantly laughing. The second half narrows in on the plot. While the second half isn't as funny, it completes the story. I love this movie, because I can relate. Like "the gecko" - That's totally me when I am worshipping! I like how Bekke manages to exaggerate things Christians do, without mocking them. By all means, some people might and have felt offended by this film. As a Christian, I find it very relatable and I am able to laugh at these things we do! Overall, I admire this film. If you like comedy, Christopher McDonald, and amazing cinematography, you should see this movie immediately. I promise, you won't be wasting your time.

After years of making and releasing insufferable garbage, Christians have released not one but TWO really good movies. Not just watchable but really good. This isn’t as great as Moms’ Night Out, but it’s definitely worth watching.

This is a well done, thought provoking movie that forces Christians to reexamine what it is they are putting their hope in. Good acting and well done cinematography. I hope these Texas filmmakers get to make more!

It’s excruciatingly awful. Everyone shouldn’t do films.
