At a small-time motorcycle track in Arizona, an inept Little Fauss trails the field. His most loyal boosters are his parents, Seally and Mom Fauss. Seally has the sanitary concession; Mom operates the catering truck. Mom tries to interest a photographer in taking Littleās picture. However, the photographer has his lens trained on the long scar on the back of Halsy Knox, a lithe, swaggering hustler, who feeds his girl, Sylvene, the remains of a sandwich he stole from Mom.
