Description

Everyone has a breaking point. Pray that Carrie White doesn't reach hers. Angela Bettis (Girl, Interrupted) stars in this bone-chilling update of Stephen King's legendary tale of horror and retribution, featuring eye-popping special effects and a shocking, all-new twist ending! Carrie White (Bettis) is a lonely, awkward teenage girl who just doesn't fit in. At school, she endures her classmates' constant ridicule, and at home she suffers endless psychological torture at the hands of her fanatically religious mother (Patricia Clarkson, "Six Feet Under"). But Carrie has a secret. She's been cursed with the terrifying power of telekinesis. And when her tormentors commit an act of unforgivably cruel humiliation at the prom, they'll soon learn a deadly lesson: If you mess with fire, you will get burned!

Angela Bettis did a pretty good job as Carrie...she definately freaked me out with the more intense scenes. Overall this was a decent adaptation and the cgi was fair considering it was TV and the time period. Closer to the book than any other.
  • Better than the theatrical remake

This made for television adaptation of Stephen Kings novel is well acted and executed. Produced as a pilot film for a potential weekly series resulted in some subtle yet significant differences from the source material and other film versions. All in all it is well written and acted. It would have been interesting if this had gone to series, but that ship has sailed. This is worth watching, even if only as a rental.

First timers...idk if this will meet your entertainment needs. But people who have seen the original Carrie, I DEFINITELY recommend you see this film. Everyone's always hating on CGI movies that come out around this time. But this is actually the best Carrie adaption to me. The plot all the way to the prom was excellent! Especially the prone scene all the way to the city destruction was very cheap CGI but the plot of it all was amazing!
  • Stays close to the book but terrible ending

I love the book Carrie and the movies. And this is a good movie, but seriously a decision to let Carrie live. That's not right. But I love the way it is presented and how close the plot stays to the original book
