I was surprised at how good this was. I really wish there had been a sequel!

I actually really liked this movie, which is something I rarely say. Loved the story line, it’s almost like a who-dun-it type of film, in that who is really apart of the conspiracy and why, with sci-fi rolled in to add an extra supernatural element, and a twist at the end to pull at your heartstrings. My only complaint about this movie is that it goes by so fast that I end up wanting more. I almost wish they turned this into a series or something to show how the characters move on, if they do. They could’ve turned this into almost a supernatural crime series. I hope you like this movie as much as I did.

I liked it, sorta. Anton Yelchin did decent job of adding humor and wit to this character. A story should give you a ride and this one did. Not a "Wow" but a solid, "Not bad". Rent it but only if less than $2.99.

The story was well thought out, had a great ending I was balling my eyes out but over all this is a great movie and worth the rent
  • Good Concept, Terrible Follow Through

I absolutely loved the concept behind the movie...it's not original but come on, a guy who can communicate with the dead and who deals with the supernatural. That's always a win in my book. But the reason I don't like this particular movie is because it literally is a whopping conglomeration of wanna-be witty one-liners and cliches. Example; "you know why I call you pooh bear?" "Because I'm so cuddly?" "Because your heads all filled with stuffing." That's it. That's the dialogue throughout the entire movie. Just every character trying to one-up the other with these lines that make you roll your eyes and press fast forward. There are a few redeeming scenes though like the ending. And surprisingly not because the movie was finally over, lol. There's probably going to be a couple twists you coulda seen coming a mile away but one or two you wouldn't have. And the whole plot line was more or less good too. Could be better though, so I give this movie two stars. I watched it on Netflix but I'm telling you if I paid MONEY to see this movie I would be writing a much more sour review.

This is based on the book, and initially I'm always hesitant to watch a movie based on such a great book series but the acting is spot on and the story true to the novel. Anton Yelchin plays a great Odd, and I seriously hope they consider making the sequels.

Very entertaining, and original story. Wish it had a higher budget but the actors did a masterful job of carrying the film. The job the actors did with emotions made this movie great in my opinion. I have recommended this movie to everyone I know.
