Description

Gwyneth Paltrow, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Josh Gad and Alecia "Pink" Moore shine in an unconventional romantic comedy that follows the topsy-turvy lives and loves of three obsessive characters: an overachieving environmental consultant (Ruffalo), a stubborn small-business owner (Robbins), and a wisecracking ER doctor (Gad). They meet in a support group and set into motion a life-changing journey.

  • One day at a time

WOW is this film underrated! I honestly loved it - the acting, plot and recovery. If you’re a friend of Bill you will definitely get some good laughs and identify with so many of the authentic, twisted and crazy feelings, as well as the whole heartedness of the characters. I love the message of taking recovery one day at a time and how you can be of service no matter how much time you have in the program. Totally worth watching!
  • The critics do not understand the sickness

I am a recovered multi-adict. The director knows this disease very well, the critics don't. Although you don't have this problem you will understand a little and create some empathy, believe me, to have this addiction is hell. I wish more movies like this exist, maybe the world will understand that is not a morality problem, it is a real and deadly sickness and needs an endless treatment, you can suspend the sintoms but you never get cure, go to meetings!

I’m not a Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but I love Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Josh Gad, and was interested in seeing Pink (aka Alecia Moore) act, so I decided to watch this film. It had me pleasantly surprised. Mark Ruffalo seems to be really hitting his stride as an actor (especially after seeing The Normal Heart - if you haven’t seen it, please do.) and I loved how brutally honest this film is about addiction, and how it can so deeply ruin your life, and takes an heart breaking look at just how difficult recovery can be. I hope more people watch it, if not because it’s a good movie, but so more people understand how any addiction can cause anyone to go from happy to rock bottom in a very short span of time. I enjoyed this film, just wish it would have had a different leading lady. I would have given this film 5 stars had she not been in it.
  • Not a Comedy!

This movie is listed as a comedy. It’s a serious drama about addiction! It’s well done, but not the entertaining movie that’s shown in the trailer.

Started off good enough, held my attention then somewhere in the midst of it, lost interest.

i thought this was going to be another rom-com for which I would blame my wife while still secretly enjoying it (oh, come on, I can’t be alone in that!) but actually we both really enjoyed this and there are some very strong performances (Pink, included!). It is a but celebratory/promotional for AA and its 12-step off-shoots but overall a very watchable and enjoyable film.

I came into this move thinking it would be, OK. I was blown away by the story and acting. My favorite girl in the world, My wife, Ms. Paltrow was amazing ( body included) Pink was a star and I hope to see her acting again as she is such a wonderful Musician and her performances in that world have blown me away. This is a must see. BTW, the guys were great too. 4+ for originality and execution.

My hubby thought this film was a bummer, I learnt a lot. Not a light hearted film, but a great way to understand addiction. Worth the time and rental
  • Killer cast.

One of the few films this year I got wrapped up and really rooted for them in the end. It's not overly feel good with the perfect amount of drama and comedy. This is great, the only person who needed a little work was Pink… But go figure. Loved it.
