Description

Manufacturing just 50 grams of meth in China will earn you a death sentence. Timmy Choi (Louis Koo) just got caught making tons. Now he's in the custody of Captain Zhang (Sun Honglei), and has one chance to avoid execution - turn informant and help the cops bring down the powerful cartel he’s been cooking for. Over the next 72 sleepless hours, the sting spins out of control, the line between duty and recklessness is blurred, and it becomes unclear who actually has the upper hand. From Johnnie To, master of the Hong Kong crime thriller, comes an unnerving thrill ride through the modern criminal underworld.

This movie was genuinely awful. I like many asian movies (old boy) ext, but this was just horrible acting and story line. If you’re into drug movies there are far better foreign films to watch relating to that subject.
  • Amazing Movie

This movie was an epic that feels almost like a shakespearian tragedy by the end. Great action. Cool detective moves. A gangster film from the side of the detectives. I loved seeing what China looks like while watching this interesting movie.
  • Just turn on subtitles, you dorks

Just turn on subtitles in the player by clicking the icon that looks like a word balloon.

I have seen many asian action films over the years, and this one fits right into Johnnie To's filmography nicely. It's good, but not awesome. I'm not quite sure why it is getting five star reviews. Sure, there is a beautiful 20 minute shoot-out at the end, but we do have to plod along to get to it. If you can stand a good amount of set-up time, you will be rewarded with the high intensity payoff. I actually think Johnnie To has done better films than this, but I do like his style. Like I said, overall it's good but not awesome. To those who commented below, yes, there are english subtitles. You just have to click on the subtitle button.
