Description

The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington DC, and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

I really love this franchise 1 through 4, although the mutations get to be too much to swallow. I still prefer a sense of realism in my sci-fi action. I was so looking forward to this, the next installment in the series. Then suddenly, 10 minutes in I said allowed "oh no! This is gonna be bad, they've ruined it". Clearly the name "retribution" must be payback to someone who once cared about this series, but now has no say in it's direction of plot. Actually, a plot would have been a good idea. This was like playing an action video game, when try as you may, you just can't get to the next level without cheating by rebooting your game system.

Not very good cinema and it is unbelievable. Good example of how to take something that was originally a pretty good story or something that could have been a good story and destroy it. At best, it's a B-grade movie failure.

This movie has too much action none of it believable, no character development and you don't even feel bad when the heroes start to die at the end, nobody ever gets shot even tho there are a million bullets flying everywhere. Don't buy or rent it's a waste of money

I grew up with the RE films and I absolutely love(d) them. The games are just as fun, in my eyes, even though they are SO different (the biggest difference is that Alice doesn’t exist in the games). However…the plot of RE:5, especially nowadays, is a plot that is happening to every franchise - by this I mean they erased everything we, the fans, thought we knew and have paved a path for them to take the story in a/many different directions. Other films, such as X-MEN: Days of Future Past, Terminator Genisys, etc. follow this idea. Wipe away what we know and start from scratch. But even though it’s a bit of a tired idea, I still really enjoyed that, with poor Alice here, that she is still the focal point of what Umbrella Corp. is doing. Umbrella is a relentless evil that Alice can never escape and as she started off as their own operative, she’s breaking away into a survivalist. I loved everything with this film and am glad RE:6 will be the last, but I will be sad to see it go.

Plot development? Character development? Script writing? Huh, what more? I'm just an average person who wanna relax with a film. And this film fulfills my purpose. Who cares about all those aspect you're talking about as if you were working in the film industry? This films got the most epic intro with that kick xxx sound track, so who cares about what story it tells, I enjoy the music.
