It was a really boring movie.. The first 90minutes were just boring. Then the last 23 minutes were somewhat good but you can barely see anything.. So overall a bad movie.

I'm not sure what movie the people that gave this film 5 stars were watching, but it wasn't this one. Probably one of her worst movies ever. The storyline is just awful and boring. This movie just plods along and is very predictable. Save your money and your time and pass on this one.

Well I like this type of movies but yes I agree with the most reviews it is B- class. If you have nothing else to watch and like Halle Berry you will maybe enjoy it.

I honestly do not understand all the negativity. I thought it was a solid movie with amazing shark graphics. I have dove with great whites, and thought the movie was amazingly accurate. For a fictional movie, I was very impressed. (I typically prefer non-fiction). I liked this movie a lot. Halle's acting was a little painful, but the movie is good for sure. My wife and I both enjoyed it. Give it a shot. Brian

That there would be much more to it!
  • Just proves a good shark movie can't be PG-13

One of the worst movies I have seen in my life so far. I hope that changes at some point but this sets the bar pretty high.
  • Smart realistic shark movie

So, if you are into unrealistic shark movies like deep blue sea or jaws which can be quite thrilling and chilling, this is not the movie for you. However, if you have always loved sharks, rented books about sharks as a kid, watched shark week like the world was ending, and expect real knowledge about shark diving, this is the movie for you. It's the realist attempt yet for a shark movie. It touched base for key elements on sharks hunting seals and real divers attempts at making the great whites jump out the water with these mock seals. Cg sharks always look so stupid to me, and to see real footage in the movie is amazing. Spoilers* It was really realistic when Halle Barry's assistant got attacked. They show the shark having enough of him touching the shark and it attacks. They show insight on how a seal isolated is basically dead in the water. I would have given it five stars as a shark movie but as a movie in general, it was a bit unrealistic that she would get so mad that she endangers the life of everyone by putting them in an obvious suicide mission in the end. Otherwise a great film for shark lovers that know that sharks don't just eat people and can't develop a vendetta against a person or family. Jaws was great for what it was, I love sharks so much I like all the jaws franchise including the revenge, deep blue sea....and i guess as abysmal as it was, open water as well. I don't like the b movie ridiculous shark movie that show sharks so massive the jump out of water to eat a plane, which was actually in a movie. But for a realistic shark movie, I think for me it was more intense because these situation can actually happen. One day I would love to swim with sharks, great whites to be more specific. It's on the bucket list for sure. Great movie! Nuff said!

Wow, despite the negative reviews I decided to go ahead and rent this film and I really enjoyed it. As someone who has always been intrigued and humbled by these amazing creatures I could easily relate to the main character's passion. I think folks who are going into this looking for the usual shark feeding frenzy are clearly going to be disappointed. This is not the standard shark flick. There are a few thrills, a decent plot but, most importantly, this film offers some beautiful imagery.
