Description

Tripp Kennedy (Dempsey) ambles into a bank near closing time, just as two different gangs unwittingly converge to rob it. A shoot-out erupts, and Tripp tackles the smart, pretty teller, Kaitlin (Judd), to protect her. The gangs—one clearly made up of pros and the other a couple of buffoons named Peanut Butter (Nelson) and Jelly (Pruitt Taylor Vince) —have deadlocked themselves in a Mexican standoff. The bank’s security system starts the end-of-day lockdown and seals everyone into the building. As the night evolves, a hilarious game of cat and mouse ensues as Tripp and Kaitlin try to save the day, escape being killed, and avoid falling in love . . . almost.

... I've been sitting here trying to think of the best way to tell you how awesome this movie is... there's too much I want to say! And first of all, it may not be genre bending from your perspective... but definitely from my perspective. It was loads of fun! Funny! Witty! Exciting! Stylistic! Unique! And in the end, satisfying. What makes this movie more interesting than a lot of the heist movies is that the twist in the movie is not really a twist in the plot... but rather twist the the genre of the heist/crime films. While the movie is about two different groups of robbers attempting to rob the same bank... something else is going on that adds to the chaos. Its like the movie "clue" (based on the board game), a wacky version of Sherlock Holmes, Columbo and the Monk mixed with a crazy bank robbery. You won't go wrong if you decide to watch this. If you are thinking about it, but are not totally sold on how it looks from the commercials or what it sounds like from the description... then you've put yourself in a great position to be completely surprised. I watched the trailer... I felt that there was a strange and uneasy chemistry from Judd and Dempsey... and it also seemed like a comedy that was trying too hard to be funny... but I watched it cause I couldn't think of anything else to watch. And now I'm writing a review the few moments after watching it... telling you how satisfied with my decision and how satisfied you will be with your decision.

Funny, engaging bank robbery comedy. We took a leap of faith, based on iTunes reviews and were pleasantly surprised by this great little movie.

This looked like fun from the trailer and the two reviews posted, and they did not misdirect. This flick was a blast. The plot was unpredictable, funny and interesting throughout. Reminiscent of the Ocean's films, if you added two hillbillies and overlapping heists, I heartily recommend this movie. Be advised there are lots of f-bombs, other 'strong language.'
  • Mmmmm...Patrick Dempsey!
