I watched this movie a couple years ago because my uncle suggested it to me. I watched and it immediately became my favorite movie ever and still is. It’s constant action and never lets you down. You can rewatch it and never get better. Truelly recommend for almost anyone!

I’ve loved this movie ever since it aired on TV all those years ago, and because of it I’ve learned quite a bit about trains. The pacing and intensity is spot on. Once I see the movie somewhere, I always want to keep watching, eyes locked on the screen, even if I’ve seen it a thousand times. They’ve put a lot of work into this, such as it’s almost as though 777 is alive, it’ll vaporize anything in its path. From when the throttle is set in full power to the final jump onto 777, you’ll be on edge the whole time. 39 cars, five being molten phenol. As they say, if the train derails, it could decimate an entire town. They did their best to keep the audience glued to their seat. The soundtrack is spot on, too, and the backstory and development of the characters. Of course, as with all movies, it does have its flaws, especially at the Stanton Curve. The continuity and physics were out of whack there, and there were some other points in the movie when the train was obviously traveling slower than the intended 70-75 mph. But hey, I can’t complain at all, because they used REAL trains and actually derailed them, and no dumb CGI was used for them. So they had to do what they can, and I’m proud of it. Most of the mistakes you’ll miss anyway. I recommend this to anybody who’s looking for a great action thriller. You don’t need to be a fan of trains or anything to love this movie.

This movie is inspired by an event in 2001 where A Csx sd40-2 numbered 8888 became unnamed and started to pick up speed rapidly. Also who shoots at a train filled with hazardous cargo????
  • Good movie. But not accurate at times

This was a pretty good movie to watch, had me on the edge of my seat from time to time, also pretty interesting that it is one of the first movies that actually derailed real locomotives in one scene instead of using CGI. but some of the scenes weren't accurately portrayed at times such as the train going "70mph" when in reality it was doing 15-25 and probably only got up to 50 maximum throughout the whole movie, It was done with real trains so I understand why.. But still, just one of those minor touches that can make a difference. But you can easily see past it and still enjoy the movie.

I am surprised this movie got better reviews than Book of Eli of The Equalizer. I liked it but not as much as the other two. I will say this is DW showing his versatility.
