Description

Paul Newman and Robert Redford set the standard for the buddy film with this western classic. Sundance (Redford) is a mighty quick draw, and his partner Butch (Newman) is a gifted get-rich-quick schemer. With the law on their trail, the two pack their guns, and, along with Sundance's girlfriend (Katharine Ross), head for Bolivia, away from the men trying to bring them to justice – and death.

This movie is good, but it is not as great as it’s reputation leads one to believe. I think this movies rave reviews are more based on group think than they are based in peoples real, unbiased, opinion. There are many better western movies available.
  • Excellent 4K Transfer

The movie itself is great of course, but the new 4K transfer is the real winner here. Lightyears ahead of the old bluray transfer - sharp, clear, and crisp. Really brings out the finer details of the Oscar-winning cinematography. Highly recommended!

the best movie ever, with one of the worst scenes ever. One of best westerns ever made... but the bicycle scene with Rain-Drops Song stinks... love it!

It has been said billions of times, but it can never be over stated how marvellous and charismatic the chemistry Paul Newman and Robert Redford have is. Every moment they are on screen and interact with one another is acting perfection and makes the entire movie. The cinematography at points is technically brilliant, the dialogue is beyond words; it can't be explained any better because it was written perfectly. The openning scene introducing us to Sundance is hands down one of the greatest movie moments of all time and tells us exactly who he is, and the same goes for Butch with his line "That's but a small price you have to pay for beauty." This movie could be watched a thousand times in a row and never loose it's brilliance. It is a must see.

This Western movie has a superb Newman-Redford portrayal of gunslinging outlaws in their title roles. I remember watching this movie on TV when I was younger. And I remember hearing the song "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" sung by B.J. Thomas during the Butch and Mary bicycle riding scene in this movie. What a great song.

I have set up a date night with my girlfriend to watch this movie. She has not seen many westerns, but this movie is so good that I know that she will love it! Anyone that has yet to see this should stop what they're doing and watch it now! Seriously, the only thing that I love more than this movie is you, Allie!

Really an interesting look at the lives of two criminals. I usually don't like westerns but this was a great movie.
