Description

Abbott and Costello, as railroad baggage clerks, receive a strange shipment - the last remains of Dracula and Frankenstein's monster. But this deadly duo is still very much alive. So when the shipment arrives at the House of Horrors, the Monsters are not in their crates but have disappeared to a secret hideaway island. Blamed for the disappearance, Abbott and Costello follow their trail to the island, where not only do they meet up with Dracula (Bela Lugosi) and the Monster (Glenn Strange), but a Mad Scientist (Charles Bradstreet) who wants to switch Costello's brain with that of the Monster. With everyone chasing each other, the Wolf Man (Lon Chaney, Jr.) shows up to scare them all. In the end everything works out: Costello finds romance and the Monsters find their final resting places...or do they?

Abbott and Costello at their best! It’s great to see the Universal Studios monster recreated by the original actors, (Glenn Strange does a great job as Frankenstein). I would like to see some iTunes extras. There are a few outtakes available, at least 4.

The bluray is on Amazon for nine bucks and includes a digital copy...or I could just buy it here for fifteen. I guess I'll order from Amazon and just throw the bluray in the trash...

Would be anyone who didn't see the originals, but if you're a fan of film you would recognize that this is a great one, packing all of the originators of so many classic horror roles. Perfectly combined with the comedy of Abbott and Costello, and as they use to say "A Real Gem!" (and I'm a young guy this stuff is great! : )

My absolute favorite A&C film. I have viewed it more times than I can remember. It has three of my favorite horror characters and the actors who portray them, very funny one liners, and an entertaining storyline. An oldie, but a real goody.
  • Funny classic comedy!!

This is the best of the A&C ‘Meet the …” films. A really good movie that I would recommend to a lot of people. Special effects were pretty good for that era. A classic must see.

This is easily one of the very best comedies of all time. The best horror villain actors team-up with Abbot and Costello to produce their funniest movie. The play on words is top notch: Abbott: “Aww, that’s a lot of bunk!” Costello: “That’s what I’m trying to tell ya. That’s his bunk!” This is one of the only Abbott & Costello times when Costello gets all the girls - but he gets a lot more than he bargained for. If you want an exceptionally clever movie that is supremely fun to watch, buy this movie! It is one of my very top comedy movies along with Life of Brian, Brazil and 1941.
