Job well done Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. As a Salsa fan aficionado I greatly appreciate the cinematic story of one of the greats. May Mr. LaVoe and son and wife Rest In Peace. Benedicioes.

Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez's performances in the film are outstanding! You can really feel what not only Hector was going through but, his wife Puchi as well. Not to mention the extraordinary cover of Hector's album "El Cantante" by the legendary Salsero! Great Music and a very deep story. Magnificent movie!!! First of all, I believe this movie was made for salseros who’ve always enjoyed Héctor’s music and wondered about the man and his life. It wasn’t filmed for everyone, and certainly don’t pay attention to those critics. They’re mostly white, old, and can’t relate with the life style of the salseros. They don’t understand the culture, they don’t understand the music, they think it’s beneath them. Forget the critics. Having said that, I think I would have liked to see less of Jennifer Lopez and more of the music and how Héctor got his inspiration. But no movie will ever please everyone. I’m glad I finally decided to watch this movie. ¡Viva la salsa!

This film is a perfect look at the life of legendary salsa singer Hector Lavoe from the 70s to 80s. if you like songs in movies that you can shake your booty too this movies the one.

This movie allowed the younger fans of salsa to grasp an understanding of what we have to offer to music. It was a great film and made me appreciate my culture and music that much more.

Jlo was born to play this role and she nailed it but y can't I buy it.
