Description

John Skillpa, a quiet bank clerk living in tiny Peacock, Nebraska, prefers to live an invisible life. Then, in a moment, everything changes. A train caboose runs off its tracks and crashes into John’s backyard and destroys more than the weathered planks of his wood fence. When neighbors descend on the scene, they discover John’s other personality, Emma, for the first time and mistakenly believe her to be John’s wife. This launches John into the glare of the spotlight and eventually shatters the delicate balance of his sanity.

Five is a good amount because that's the most stars I can put on my new iPad I got for Christmas last week. Unfortunately I got sick the day after Christmas and then had to download iTunes 10 because my computer was out of date. So technically I've only had it for like 4 days. It's really cool because it's like a computer but pretty nice:) anyway the movies pretty cool especially when I watched it on my brand new iPad, but it's the iPad with only wifi it doesn't have 3 G because my daddy got me this one. Ummm the movie was good I guess but not as food as my iPad, that food was supposed to be good. Wait, I meant the word food was supposed to be the word good, not the food was good like I ate food even though I just had some great pizza from an unnamed source because I don't want to say papa johns on the computer, actually my iPad! And a guy left a comment saying that, wait, asking if the guy was from 28 days later and yes he is, that was a really good movie too. I like zombie movies my favorite was Shawn of the dead. I watched that one with my girlfriend one time, it was fun. I actually haven't really watched this movie yet but I watched the trailer and it scared me a little bit. I might watch it now on my new iPad I got for Christmas this year:) but enchanted in on and I like that movie so I might just watch that instead...who knows!!! Happy New Years everybody!!!

This is the worst and probably most disturbing movie I have ever seen! I normally like Ellen page movies, but this is just terrible! Bad plot (wait there isn't one!), and bad idea to even make! Just horrible!

We really liked this quiet little gem. Intense but not really anything graphic - most of that is left to the mind's eye. Don't want to give anything away and any sort of synopsis would probably do just that. Do want to add that Cillian Murphy is nothing short of brilliant in this - would've been easy for this movie to be lousy if that role isn't cast perfectly.
  • Gothic Americana....

with a twist, please. This film was an engaging, well acted piece of drama set in the 1960's in a rural Nebraska town of about 800 people. The cinematography was absolutely beautiful and quite immediately captured my attention, but it was the story's premise and the performances that held it there. Cillian Murphy does an outstanding job potraying John Skillpa and his counterpart Emma. It's an intriguing look inside a man's fragile life and how it all gets blown apart in an instant. The film does require a small amount of suspension of disbelief to be able to digest the town's inability to see John for Emma, but I think it works here. There is a "Psycho-esque" quality to the storyline, but it still holds it's own in terms of individuality. I love films like this....I am truly shocked that it never made it to theaters. What a shame...almost as secretive of a find as John and Emma! Loved it.
