On Her Majesty's Secret Service

Awesome story and action. Set a blueprint for future Bond movies and action movies in general. Of all the actors to play Bond, Lazenby’s Bond was closest to Fleming’s Bond of the later books.

This is one of my favorite Bond films. Lazenby did a great job in this. For a guy who never really acted before and at a young age too! The fight/action scenes are great! Great locations! Diana Rigg was brilliant in this too. Along with Telly Savalas as Blofeld. This Bond film is underrated and it deserves much much more!

OHMSS and Lazenby get a lot of disrespect from fans, which is really unfair. Lazenby, who only did a commercial career for one company, just plays Bond so fudging well. Also, come on, he is not wooden! Who came up with that theory? He is the most realistic, most human bond. He takes two guys out in the opening with grit, determination, and resourcefulness. He goes after a girl, and soon realizing he can’t not love her after running into her so many times, falls in love. He goes after what may be a normal villain who becomes Bond’s equal in every form. But his recklessness gets him captured in an attempt to lure his enemy back into Switzerland. He almost loses. He promises himself not to let it happen again as he escapes with the best action sequence in the series. He goes to a village, counting police to be there to protect him. But their aren’t any around, and it is with dumb luck he finds the girl he loved, keeping him from losing. Again, he won’t let it happen again. And then he loses again, hard, when he loses his girl to the villain after she accepts his proposal to marriage. It is definitely the best written, best scored, best shot, best located, best casted Bond movie ever. Would recommend it to a new fan. 10/10.

The change of director to Peter Hunt, who had formerly been the editor, left the entire movie feeling more like a long TV episode than the well crafted Bond movies that came before, and came after, His Majesty's Secret Service. Likely what led the production company to get Sean Connery back as Bond, and Guy Hamilton as director. Hamilton had done a great job with Goldfinder, and managed the transition to Rodger Moore, before passing the reigns to Lewish Gilbert.

I watched a whole bunch of Bond movies in one go. This one stood out to me as one of the best. Telly Savalas gives the most convincing, intimidating portrayal of the Blofeld charecter. I actually enjoyed Lazenby's portrayal of Bond, I don't know if Connery could have come off as vulnerable. The gear room escape scene was harrowing. The only Bond movie with a sad ending. Great soundtrack. For those who say Lazenby was the worst Bond, I have to say Timothy Dalton was absolutely the worst.

Diana Rigg is the best Bond girl. Telly Savalas the best Bond villain. Peter Hunt, perhaps, the best Bond director. George Lazenby’s performance remarkably good. The movie, better than most Sean Connery movies and better than any Bond movie starring any actor not named Sean.

Definitely different and still Bond!!!👍🏾

John Barry + Louis Armstrong + Diana Rigg + Telly Savalas + Lazenby (the un-celebrity Bond) = great movie. I agree with (and learned from) the other reviews. This movie is much better than any of the later Moore movies.

This is the 6th movie I have seen of James Bond today! Great.

I don't care that it's not Sean and I am an adamant fan of Sean Connery!!! But this movie did it all and was fantastic!!! I was only 15 when it came out in theatres and I was captivated by it for all the right reasons. Bond in turmoil, Bond in love, Bond being a renegade, Bond realizing he was wrong, Bond surviving with his love. Then Bond losing his love!!! How it all came together back in 1969 was fantastic if you became part of this movie and not the hype. Diana Rigg was always my favorite action herione and in some ways out classed Bond too.
