Description

Michael Caine plays a man on holiday in Rio with his teenage daughter Nikki, his best friend Victor (Joseph Bologna) and Victor’s sexy and flirtatious daughter (Michelle Johnson). When Caine falls for the daughter, Jennifer, the pair embark on a secret, if slightly one-sided relationship. Johnson's father is furious when he finds out about an 'older man' in his daughter's life, and asks Caine to help him track down her lover. Loosely based on the French farce Un moment d'égarement.

A film that could never get made in today’s endlessly outraged climate, Blame It On Rio is a feast from a bygone age...before the tyranny of political correctness rendered everything offensive.

I saw this movie when I was in the 4th grade on cable 30 years ago. Even though the movie itself wasn’t that great, I found myself watching the movie over and over again as an adult. The reason why I liked it was because of the music . It took me 2 years to find the original music on YouTube because most of it is out of print. And yes I have the VHS tape lol.

I can't believe this movie only got 9% on Rotten Tomatoes. Is it Academy Award worthy? No. But is it terrible? Absolutely not! It's actually a very fun movie. I saw it when I was 19, and I fell in love with Michelle Johnson's hot, completely naked body. And I'm still in love with it. She was only 17 when it was filmed, but her parents gave permission. And any man who says he's not attracted to her is either lying or gay.

This is a great movie, I have loved it for years, for the longest time I had a huge crush on Michelle Johnson. The movie does not take itself too seriously. So, I was glad to see it here.

One of my favorite guilty pleasures. You don't emerge enlightened in any way, but it's amusing, well acted (given the limitations of the story) and shot in vintage Rio. You won't regret the investment of time or money...

I was bummed to read some of the "so serious" reviews on this movie. It really has been one of my favorite movies for years. It delivers exactly what it's suppose to. A comedy about life, being young, getting older, family bonding, divorce and falling in love for the first time and falling back in love after many years. I disagree with all the negative reviews and say... "It's a must see". If only to watch Michael Caine and the sweet naive, but true to her heart girl that plays Jennifer. What great casting.
