Description

This story is based on the real life experiences of Salamo Arouch, a middle weight boxing champion of the Balkan countries. Captured by the Nazis in 1943, Arouch was sent to one of their death camps where he was forced to fight over 200 opponents for the entertainment of the SS Officers. His survival and the survival of his family and others in his barracks depended upon his remaining champion.

This is one of the best films that depicts the incredible pain, suffering, and ultimately, survival during the Holocaust. The film covers many aspects of the Holocaust; ghetto life, resistance, transport, selection, and many of the "choiceless choices" that people were forced to make. This film makes the statistics of those who suffered into a powerful personal testimony. I highly recommend this film.
