I LOVE THIS MOVIE! This has been my favorite movie for years. It is so insprirational to any young competetive horseback rider. I think I have watched the jumping scenes 300 times. Anyone who has a horse should understand the passion and drive that Sarah has for her horse and to become the best rider she can be.

I found the movie to be really pleasing. The riding style was somewhat better than in National Velvet. Sarah posted quite well while pacing, much better than in National Velvet where there were a number of times while pacing Velvet rode western style instead of posting. I thought this movie was very well done with a good mix of personal battles and the stress of competition. I insert this because of other postings. I rather enjoyed watching proper English riding style.

Great movie for horse lovers, but I only gave 4* because the aunt & "uncle" in the movie aren't married. But otherwise, the plot is great, I give this two thumbs up!

Although the picture is less like the original movie "National Velvet" for instance the fact that it has more to do with the girl named Sarah and not Sarah and Arizona Pie (her horse in the movie) it has an excellent story. Some parts of the movie do not belong but I would say the greatest parts are toward the end where she gets accepted onto Captain Johnson's team and then when she goes to the Olympics. I would have prefered that the movie had taken another direction. For instance the material and story. The part where the boys hunt her down in their car is not in any way useful to the movie. The fact that the movie is considered a horse movie because it has horses in it when it is deeply more about the girl than anything. A movie like that should have been more like the original, story-based movie and not just an added dramatic movie. When she suddenly gets married in the end is just too unrealistic. If you're into the drama and stuff you should by it. Horse lovers-I will sort of not recomend if you're searching for an enjoyable horse movie. Also if you've seen this movie you've heard the music by Francis Lai who composed the whole film. I find that the theme music is excellent and soothing. They came out with the score on record years ago and yet I find it not to be on iTunes. If you think that the soundtrack should be available on iTunes, say something about it don't just wait for it to happen. I'm one person not an entire world and I can't say much on my own a lot, I need back-up.
