Sexy Beast

Puts the classic Cockney gangster genre through the Tarantino-Ritchie postmodern moves and comes out a winner. Brilliant performances all around -- not just Kingsley's amazing bad guy, but Winstone at his soggy best, McShane at his most evil, and the whole supporting cast. Brilliant script, despite a few cliched plot points. Great look and soundtrack. Even the arty elements more or less work. Loved it.

"Sexy Beast" is a great British gangster film that warrants repeated viewings. Ray Winstone stars, but Ben Kingsley steals the show and his performance alone is worth the price!

If your looking for Action to replace Acting, then this movie is not for you! The superb played out roles feel more like a real world tale your mate sat you down to tell you. Not a FX waste of time...

Sexy Beast, Sneaky Good Movie Inevitably, if I tell someone to watch this movie, without telling then anything about it, there will be smirks and lewd snickers prior to the viewing. Afterwards, there is a generally subdued, faintly fearful, happy to be out of there alive look on all of their faces. They had just seen "Mahatma Ghandi" , as Don Logan, a cunning, violent sociopath, use everything in his power, from subtle manipulation to outright violence. to achieve his goals in the brutal London underworld of crime. The cast includes Ben Kingsley (Ghandi), Ray Winstone (Ripley's Game), Ian McShane (Waking Ned Devine), James Fox (The Jackal). and Amanda Redman (Kng Lear). See this movie, if not for the spectacular Spanish scenery, the clever, clever crime, the getaway, the comeuppance, then see it for the mind-blowing acting performance of Ben Kingsley. At this point one has to wonder which character, Ghandi or Don Logan was Kingsley playing against type.

I saw this movie a few years ago and loved it! Ben Kingsley is an absolute genius, he is one the best actors of this generation. I highly recommend this movie.
