I work at a movie theater and when I heard the thumbnail discription of this film I just dismissed it as junk but I happen to be on break and sat in on a few minutes which just happened to have the scene in which the nun is sucked from out of the airplane. As she tumbled through the sky praying for protection.......well, I won't spoil it, but from that moment I was hooked and got to see the whole thing twice during it's brief run at the theater. It s a little clunky in spots but for the most part it is a strange and beautiful fairy tale. Samantha Morton is just heatbreaking as "Marilyn". There is one scene mid way through the movie that a I have seen numerous times and has never failed to provoke deep sobs. All I will say is sheep. Anything with the great Werner Herzog alone is worth the price of admission. His scenes are brief but memorable. Take a chance on this one.
  • Okay.....but Harmony disappointed me with this one.

I'm a huge Harmony Korine fan. He is very creative, and I love every one of his movies before Mister Lonely. Gummo being my all time favorite movie. (I have yet to see Trash Humpers) I am just very disappointed with this film. It wasn't edgy enough to be a Korine film. What happened to the Gummo days? Should I no longer expect movies like that anymore? Don't get me wrong, the movie was all right, had a very 'indie' feel to it. I was just expecting more from Harmony Korine. Hopefully hist upcoming films are better. It's worth a watch though.

Strange, but (mostly) in a good way. I've read reviews in which people say, sure, it's original, but it's also pointless, but I don't think that's true. Some things about this film could have been done better (more character development would have been nice, and a few sequences, like some that involved nuns jumping out of planes, struck me as out of place and unnecessary), but it did have it's share of touching, heartbreaking, funny, and thought-provoking scenes. Plus, you get to see all sorts of funny interactions, like Michael Jackson playing ping-pong with Charlie Chaplin, and the Pope sleeping with the Queen of Britain. Anyway, if you like really offbeat types of movies, you might want to give this one a chance.

The Movie Was Funny And Romantic But What I Don't Get Is Why Did They Use Micheal Jackson? And Marilyn Monroe If The Woman Is Dead! But I Still Love The Movie
