Phenomenal Movie

Must be seen with it's prequel, Henry Fool... shot in 1997.
It makes a lot more sense of both movies when seen as a pair.
It's very clever, full of forshadowing, Yes, its true.. you must pay attention to it
in order to fully enjoy it. Sorry to those of you with short attention spans.
Watch it twice... you'll see a lot more the second time.
Pathetic

I went to write this review after having watched the first 15 minutes of it. That's never a good sign. I will keep watching and write a retraction if it turns out to be even modestly enjoyable.
Another awesome film from Hal Hartley

Hal Hartley has a very distinctive "voice," and judging by some of the reviews here, is not equally loved by all. Too bad. Fay Grim is great not only as a sequel, but it stands on its own as another brilliant piece of work from a great filmmaker.
There's no accounting for taste.

By and I'd watchit again if i had the chance!
This movie's treatment of the foreign policy-thriller as a genre distinct enough to bear satirization is funny in itself. The fact that it launches a pretty relevant critique of contemporary political life, is cool too. It sounds like a lot of people found the film's vernacular a little off-putting, but ultimately the film's language and humor become familiar, like the low hum of a mantra or an inside joke, as one begins to accept the reality it posits . Hal Hartly films often carry the tone of inside jokes for me, and like all inside jokes they are alienating. Perhaps if some of the other reviewers of this film had actually finished watching it, they would have found it less so, or would at least been in a better position to criticize it.
collosal bore

How this film averaged 3 stars I cant imagine - I honestly suspect there are shills entering their comments.
The film is a complete bore - stylized crap.
Whaa? This is one of the best movies I've seen.

Parkery Posey was great, the whole movie was very funny. The plot was complicated but eventually made sense. The film was so complicated that it was funny, intentionally. Overall 5 starts
NOT FOR EVERYONE

Unlike the rest of these people tha said the movie was slow and vomit inducing, i thought it was a surprisingly subtle smart movie. If u just hated the premise of the movie and didn't care for some smart witted humor is one thing, but if you actually could not follow the movie and its intillectual nuances its not my fault; i will aslo admit that i just have the hots for parker posey and just about anything she does.
Great movie for the right viewer

I see how some people hate this movie. It is definitely cult. As a fan of detective fiction ranging from Raymond Chandler to Bukowski's Pulp, I found this movie to be brilliant.
If you're looking for a Bourne movie, pass right by. If you've read a book since middle school, you'll probably digg Fay Grim.
Total crap

This movie was so bad, I turned it off after 10 minutes to bang my head against the wall and lose my memory of how bad it actually was! And it's a sequel? I can only imagine how awful that could be. Poor Parker Posey and Jeff Goldbloom, this has got to be the lowest point for both of them.
Couldn't watch the whole movie!!

The title says it all: I just could not stand watching the whole movie. I tried to watch it, really, forced to the limit in order to see if it got any better, but unfortunately the movie is so slow that I had to quit watching before the middle. :-(
