The movie is great but on my 4K tv this is very dark and very grainy (the preview isn’t). It looks like it is shot through a dirty lens (maybe that is intentional). My VHS and DVD copies don’t look this bad.

I was gifted this movie without having seen it. My brother knows me well. I have yet to see a movie that tops this in writing, acting, music, scenery, directing and just over twisted plot. This is not a movie to watch and do something else too. Half of the genius of the wit in this movie is in the subtle acting, line delivery and double entendre.

Rarely do the combination of a great story, talented actors, and superb writing come together to create a film with timeless appeal. This is a fine example.

I rented it, watched it, and then BOUGHT it. Absolutely incredible story, acting, cast, costumes/set, and cinematography. Definately, definately R- literally half the film has people in bed- but it's tasteful, yet sexy, and beautifully performed by the actors!

This is by far my favorite movie of all time. John Malkovich is awesome, as is Glen Close. The costumes are fantastic, and the story is fabulous. I've watched this at least ten times. They did a remake of this with Sarah Michelle Geller set in modern times which was ABSOLUTELY AWFUL!!

This is an excellent movie. Great acting, great story, plot. Beautiful scenery, actors. As close to near perfect as a movies can be. Bummer of a ending but that's life. Ocassionally you get what you deserve and ocassionally you don't. I put this close to Sophie's Choice.
