Description

Richard Cooper (Chris Rock), a successful investment banker with a beautiful, intelligent wife and two gorgeous kids at home, would seem to have it all. However, between the daily commutes from the suburbs to New York City, the endless business meetings, the kids’ diapers, and the Wiggles on TV, there’s only one thing on Richard’s mind: women. The women he sees on the commuter train in the morning, the women who walk the streets of Manhattan, the women he fantasizes about in order to alleviate the boredom of his mundane routine life. Happily married to Brenda (Gina Torres), Richard has no intention of cheating, until an old friend, the stunning Nikki (Kerry Washington), appears at Richard’s office door, asking for help in landing a job. During lulls in his workday, Richard starts meeting Nikki for late lunches, and the banker’s conventional life begins to turn upside down.

Me and my 14 year old have seen this movie at least 6 times. We love everything about it. Chris Rock is great in it, so is the supporting cast. A NY story at its finest. It is what it is! It's not diehard or transformers its a look at life as it stretches for the middle age man.
  • A black version of the Seven Year Itch

This incredibly dull and predictable movie is saved from being a complete failure by the rather charming portrayal of Chris Rock as a married businessman torn between loyalty to his (dull) wife and a very hot (and also very unconvincing) former crush who shows him some good times. This has all the elements of another (far superior) movie, the Seven Year Itch, except in that movie the bombshell next door was naively unaware of the inner conflict of the main character, whereas this vixen is not only aware, but tries to use it to her advantage in the third act. Also, the ending is completely out of left field and makes no sense to the rest of an otherwise straight comedy. Overall this movie is not bad per se, just not that good.

I find this to be a good movie. It is funny and entertaining. I saw some of the other reviews and what you have to remember is that this is a Comedy movie meant to entertain. Not a therapy session. Good soundtrack too!

This movie is hilarious and Chris Rock delivers. Anything Rock gets hold of is magic. And to the people who say "this movie is disturbing because he cheats!!!???!?!?!?", Please, understand it's a movie (if you people don't complain about horror movies then something's messed up. Plus, its more realistic than a typical love story comedy and reflects the internal conflicts really encountered by men in todays world. Kind of like (500)Days of Summer, it was easy to relate to on a personal level. I recommened this movie to anyone.
