The audio is kinda crazy the music is louder than the dialogue sometimes ( the original Australian soundtrack) The 4K transfer is excellent though. And it only cost 4.99 I feel like I stole it.
  • God bless Mel!

Saw this when it came out. Still one of the best dystopian flicks out there!
  • Is the original USA dubbed version included?

I prefer to watch this movie as I saw it upon itโ€™s cinema debut back in (โ€™79 or โ€™80) with voice actors dubbing the dialog. Can any please state whether or not this purchase will include the American dubbed version, as I wonโ€™t enjoy it otherwise. Thanks in advance for anyoneโ€™s help!
  • Sold as HD, not even close . . .

This is a classic movie, no doubt. Itโ€™s sold on iTunes as HD, however, and the version that plays isnโ€™t even close to HD. Not sure what kind of cameras George Miller used, but the sharpness of what downloads from iTunes isnโ€™t close to anything considered 1080p today.

This film set the stage for all other post-apocalyptic films to follow. Curiosity got the best of me and I conducted an internet search, โ€œwhere are they nowโ€. The actor that portrayed the night rider has been MIA for some time, current whereabouts unknown - go figure. George Miller influenced a generation The film was shot on a budget of $350,000- $400,000 and grossed over $100 million worldwide. The first time I saw the film with American voice overs, I thought it was missing something. When I finally saw it with its original Aussie slang and accents it made that much more of an impact. One of my favorites.
  • HD version?

When will this movie be available in HD? When it is, I will purchase it. Awesome movie though.
  • Entertaining, but not as good as Road Warrior

This is a very cartoonish type 70's Dystopian action drama. It has a good storyline, but more is heard in the sequel, The Road Warrior. The movie might be slow, but the last 20 minutes was one hell of a series of chase scenes. If you dislike this one, watch The Road Warrior.
  • My Favorite In the Series

I'm probably in the minority, taking the original over The Road Warrior, but honestly this is the essential Mad Max film. Mad Max sets the tone for what will be, and it does it in high-style. I would call it the most toned-down "post-apocalyptic" setting of the series (which makes sense, because the world only gets worse in the sequels), but I feel like that makes it the most relatable. It's more Jericho than A Boy and His Dog in this respect. There is a deterioration of the world around Max and lawlessness is rampant, but it isn't to the point where people are fully into "survival mode." I think if I were to write a story in the post-apocalyptic genre, Mad Max would be my template, and not the more traditional "world's gone to hell" depictions found in the sequels.
  • Perhaps it was a result of anxiety.
