It was not the best but it was not the worst

An underated action movie that is wrongfully hated by many. Likely because of its setting in Afghanistan. The outdated politics of this film should in no way indicate whether its good or not. Stallone is in his prime, and the whole picture is over-the-top. A perfect action flick of the late 80s!

Second only to the new Rambo film, Rambo 3 is the best of the older Rambo films. It really ups the ante for action scenes and explosions, and the climax is the best scene in the series. Go John Rambo!

This had probably the most action and best acting and graphics you'll ever seen in a movie from the 90's. great film by stallone, he has not failed us yet!

instead of the jungle, this movie takes rambo to the desert. it is even more violent than the first two movies. this is the last you see of rambo for 20 years until rambo 4

While First Blood is a great action movie and capitalized on the action genre, the 2nd had brought the series to a mainstream audience that wouldn't really Alienate anyone. Rambo III follows the success of the 1st and the 2nd, but stays more keen to the 2nd than the 1st. And while most like the 2nd just because it was more appropriate, the 1st is still the best by my standards. Rambo is working in a village now, and Colonel Trautman decides to ask Rambo if he'll go on a mission with him, but Rambo basically says "His road has ended" and he's not working for the army anymore. Colonel trautman goes in, but ends up being captured by Russia. From here on, the story becomes very predictable. And you can guess what happens at the end for sure. If you like the 1st for some odd reason, this one will obviously be the worst in the series, if you like the 2nd like most people, the 3rd is a great sequel. It's just really outdated which is why it's often considered the worst. But if you have no problem getting over outdated movies than have to meaning, this one will be a great addition to your iTunes movie collection. RATING: Buy it! This is arguably better than rambo 2......rambo 2008 doesnt even come close - which is the only reason i give it a 5 - to somehow show 2008 is terrible. do yoou not watch this and think maybe we should have supported the afghans after the soviets left....i.e. charlie wilsons war....we'll see. without rambo and charlie wilson we would have never expelled the soviets from afghanistan!!!

This along with the other Rambo Movies are my all time favorites, especially this one due to its accuracy and its intense action. Stallone is amazing!
