Produced by Wayne's BATJAC production company. Definitely one of the Duke's best lesser known movies and only $9.99 on iTunes. Now, when can I get Rio Lobo??

This is one of the Duke's best films. Interestingly enough the film is actually based on L'Amour's short story "The Gift of Cochise" and was later expanded into the Novel "Hondo" after the success of the film. As one reviewer states it does have a John Ford feel, perhaps because the Duke was a stalwart in Ford's company of players. This movie was produced by the Duke's own production company and directed by John Farrow. I highly recommend it as well as the novel if you can find it. The novel has some interesting notes from Louis L'Amour about writing the full novel after the movie.
