Thanks to a talented cast, some very funny scenes, and a sweet message, The Shaggy Dog is somewhat better than your average generic family film.

It does not work because it (the movie) stops at the scrabble scene and you can not fast forward and you can not rewind and try again. But the movie is O.K. it's just when it stops it is a little disappointing.

Tim Allen is a ham! Laughs keep coming, makes good points about animal care and testing (not to do it). Lots of fun!

Watched it twice and I STILL DON'T GET THE PART OF THE PLOT WITH THE 300 YEAR OLD DOG. And anyway, Tim Allen did another one of his cliche movies (you know, where he does the whole I'm-a-dad-who's-dedicated-to-my-job-and-my-wife-and-kids-hate-me-because-I-don't-spend-enough-time-with-them-and-it-takes-me-the-whole-movie-to-figure-this-out-and-change-my-ways act and stuff)--only this time...he was a dog. A cute dog...but that wasn't enough to save this train-wreck of a movie. DO NOT BUY THIS MOVIE. SAVE YOUR MONEY. PLEASE.
