Awesome movie. Definitely one of Shinkai’s best

The ending ruins the entire movie which was so so wonderful.

This movie has eluded digital platforms ever since I heard about it a few years ago. The only place that you could watch it was either Crunchyroll or YouTube. The physical copy of the movie was indeed scarce and resellers had a field day with it. I am lucky enough to have owned a physical copy, in a steel book format, but before that time I was confined to watching it on YouTube. I watched it many times and it breaks your heart every single time. It’s an amazing movie and it answers the age old question that we often ask ourselves when we lay awake at 3am, restless in our thoughts of an old love: “what if I ever saw them again?” Make no mistake, this is not a love movie. This is a movie about growth through distance and how fast life can change around you without even realizing it. This is not Your Name, but something far more thought provoking. I was in a slump for days after watching this movie because it inhibited a lot of repressed feelings for me. Thanks to the movie, I finally got over what I was holding onto.
