Dennis Quaid (THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW) and Sean Patrick Flanery (THE BOONDOCK SAINTS) headline this powerful martial arts action film about the love for family and the drive for greatness. After a blood-soaked jujitsu match in Dubai, fighting legend Mickey Kelley (Flanery) falls to superstar Blaine. But years later, an online video proves that Blaine cheated, and the world demands a rematch. Even if your not into mma/jujitsu this is a movie about spirit and a guy trying to do the right thing. A protector. A never give up attitude. A warrior … knows his capabilities and know how to control himself. He was fierce like a lion yet gentle as a lamb.
  • Deep, Existential Film with Heart

I am not into the defense arts at all, but the heart of the human spirit shown in this film is astounding. This is far removed from one of the run-of-the-mill martial arts films full of action sequences to wow audiences. This film has deep messages for the human spirit in my humble opinion. Thoroughly enjoyed this film from beginning to end. Very well done and a worthy watch without any doubt. Enjoy

In a sea of crummy movies that waste the time it takes to turn them off, this one is why I keep coming back for more. Every now and then - a really good tale that needs to be told. So good.
  • Great message, terrible movie.

Flannery's love for the sport is clearly so strong and deep, and its great that he wanted to make this film. But as good as he is at BJJ, that's how bad he is at screenwriting. The plot and dialogue are painfully, often laughably bad. There's a lot of good reviews here, and with good reason. This movie has heart, and fans of BJJ will love the message. But objectively, this movie is badly written, badly acted, and filmed one cut above a student film. That said: it didn't feel like wasted time.
