Description

Megan Fox (TRANSFORMERS) tackles a thrilling new role as a battle-hardened mercenary in this explosive action saga. As team leader O'Hara, she leads a lively squad of soldiers on a daring mission: rescue hostages from their captors in remote Africa. It’s a sold B action movie. This is quite a different role for Fox. Nothing like the Fast & Furious, Transformer roles. And she does an decent job. Seeing as how she’s an decent actor. Was worth the rent.

Have you ever thought you’d have a fav Megan Fox movie? 67 percent on rotten tomatoes when I watched this which feels pretty on point for the quality of action movie this is. Action movies are rarely remarkable but this is good storytelling and plenty entertaining. And thank god there wasn’t a completely unnecessary 45 min that doesn’t help the story at all like most action releases Plot is summarized well in the blurb, it’s a rescue mission vs human traffickers where bad stuff happens because the bad guys don’t just quit & then they just try to save as many of themselves and other folks as they can. I know, we’ve seen this story before Action pros: good chirpy banter between squad members. Action & plot believable, and there’s an obligatory guy named Eli with an accent who swears a lot & is always angry at the situation, I always like that character. Everyone is appropriately sweaty for a desert movie too. Non action hero characters appropriately useless and nobody tries to force a cool guy line that hardly anyone can deliver anymore. Adequate downtime between action sequences moves the story along nicely Action cons: use of CGI. There’s some animal attack scenes we don’t need Bc we’ve all seen these done just find with some off screen juicy chomp sounds our whole lives, no need for a cheaply rendered Tiger esp when later animal sightings look a ton better. There is a bunch of that always annoying “I’m just a mercenary” amoral stuff I look forward to more action movies with Megan Fox

Megan Fox as a commando commander is just not believable. But overall it’s an ok action flick.

The acting and the story aren’t as good as it could have been.
  • Good premise. Absolutely terrible execution

So, the idea behind this movie was to raise awareness of Lion Farming, which I will admit, I was completely ignorant to. So good job there. But considering they had Megan Fox as the star of this, they should have spent more money on the CGI budget and gotten these people some decent firearms training. The technique and overall "gun play" in this movie was beyond terrible. And the medical techniques demonstrated were completely wrong. If you're going to demostrate these kinds of techniques, at least get them right. Correct medical aid and proper firearms handling techniques would have made up for the terrrible acting from Fox. This just hurt to watch.
  • Really?! Megan Fox with a gun?!!!!

Not sure why everyone was expecting a Oscar winning caliber movie, this is 1 hr & 44 minutes of blood and guts action. MJ Bassett made a decent movie with a message about wildlife (Specifically big Cat) conservation, what’s not to love. Dim the lights, grab some popcorn & enjoy the flick. Cheers!

Nice use of color tones, action sequences, and justice for animals. My wife and I were just looking for some entertainment and it served us well. Reminded me a bit of the Ghost and the darkness, for anyone that remembers the mid 1990's with Val Kilmer...
