A plot about as tasty as a sawdust milkshake. Most viewers will figure out the big plot twist an hour before it’s finally revealed making this thrilla mostly vanilla. I empathized with the antagonist. I too felt like a hostage locked in a dungeon for what felt like 30 years but in reality was only an eternally long 1:51 minutes.

This was a surprise and a good 1. There’s not enough good reviews for this movie and it’s a shame because it’s a well done thriller/ mystery. Highly recommend 👍

    Good performances all over.
  • Lack of chemistry, story has no point

Pegg is great in this. As for Collins, the lead, she might have been 30 years old but she comes off as barely 15. There is no way that the average voter would have put her in office as the District Attorney for New York City. I mean, seriously? They should have changed that, big time. As for her performance, she does a good job but it still feels like she's a bit out of her depth. Also, there is ZERO chemistry between her and her supposed husband. There is nothihg between them. A good actor would have been able to pull it off. In this regard, the daughter was far more believable. The film wraps up by forgetting to answer the most important question of all: Why? What was the reason for the father revealing this? What's the point? This makes for one huge glaring hole. What it boils down to is the most fundamental question of all "Why does this film exist at all?"
