Description

After trashing her neighbor's house in a fit of youthful defiance, 14-year-old Kris seems destined to follow in her mother's footsteps to the state penitentiary. To make amends, she is forced to help Abe Turner, an ex-bull rider scraping by on the Texas rodeo circuit, with errands at home and at his work. While traveling with Abe, she discovers a passion for bull riding. Yet, as Kris sets out to learn the dangerous sport, bad influences back home in her leafy subdivision outside Houston lure her back into delinquent ways. Abe, meanwhile, struggles with the aches and pains of growing older and aging out of the only life he has ever known in the rarely glimpsed world of backyard rodeos. This is the story of two disparate souls at a crossroads who forge an unexpected connection, helping each other see new possibilities and hope for the future.

Loved this slice-of-American-life tale that is barely ever seen on film. Wonderful job from Rob Morgan and the rest of the cast. Loved the raw and beautiful cinematography.

Bull has a heartwarming story line and the acting is incredible!! The movie explores the complex and heartfelt relationship between the two characters and once again prove that genuine connections can be found in the most unexpected places. This is an absolute must see!

In several ways this movie reminds me of Moonlight - the relationship Kris develops with Abe, and especially when he takes her to ride a bull for the first time. They desperately need each other and give each other purpose. We hope for the best and fear for the worst. I love she was white and he was black - crossing the boundaries of race. Taking her to black rodeos where they were able to transcend race, gender and many other issues. The young lady playing Kris was amazing. Really great acting. Her show of strength, great resolve and the control of her emotions. I love the ending. It gives us HOPE

This movie was terrible. It had so many good reviews on rotten tomatoes that I wonder if the reviews were stolen from other movies like Amazon reviews. It was awkward and uncomfortable, every scene. Slow, dull and almost incoherent. The only musical background was the skin crawling insect life that plagues so much of the south. The cinematography was way to close and unstable most of the time. Horribly awkward scenes involving 14 years doing things that shouldn’t be in any movie even if nothing was illegally shown. The most amazing part of the whole debacle was how boring the director could make bull-riding seem. The movie never changes pace, never picks up, never even goes anyway. I’ve never felt more frustrated with the covid-19 lockdown than I am right now. Don’t ever trust rotten tomatoes, I should have noticed there were only 7 ITunes user reviews.
