  • Windy, like a kite on a calm day.

The opening was awesome. But that’s were the awe stopped. The main character really doesn’t exist or carry the story. A little bit of background without any real substance, nothing to get you emotionally attached. Sorry, but dozens of close up shots of young cute faces did not get the message across. They tried to remake that movie about hush puppy, but they forgot about the one thing that made that movie great. I give one star for cuteness.
  • Do not buy this. Shill reviews. Terrible movie

I have no idea how many positive reviews were bogus but I would imagine it was may well have been all of them. This is a total drudge. There is barely a skeleton of a story. Virtually all of it is meaningless meanderings of kids crawling around rocks on a scrapheap of an island and doing virtually nothing. Forcing myself to sit through this film was agony. I cannot imagine the utterly boring job it must have been it was to have to edit this mess. How this film was ever marketed and how it ever wound up on iTunes I cannot imagine. There is absolutely no fun, no adventure, nothing to take away from this. I am hiding this from my iTunes library and trying not to think about how I wasted money on this piece of junk.

My wife and are are big Peter Pan fans you could say, and when I saw this, just after watching the trailer we figured we should buy vs rent. And boy we were not disappointed!! Such good thought went into making this film, kids acting on point, the graphics and design of “mother” just all top notch without a high end budget! Loved the film.
  • Singular and unexpected

This one surprised me, darker than expected and very different, as expected from the trailers, from any other film based on the Peter Pan rift. Not for everyone but one to watch absolutely, pretty special.
  • Low budget but highly imaginative

The young actors in this film do an amazing job, just enough visual effects to fully transport us to a magical world, and a story every grown up needs to remember.
  • Idealistic, pure and exciting.

Benh Zeitlin is such a magical filmmaker. Another imagery epic from the mind behind “Beasts of the Southern Wild.”
  • Just what we were missing
