It's a lot like Apocalypse Now but in space

They don’t make a ton of good sci-fi these days. This is one of the good ones. Madness on the edge.
  • Useless waste of talent

Huge fan of Brad. This was a predictably 100% waste of time

The first time I watched this, I didn’t like it very much. The second time I watched it, I liked it a lot. Brad Pitt was excellent, and the story was great. I appreciate the attempt at realism in all aspects of the movie. Great movie. Not as good as interstellar, but its got a similar tone.

Took me months to get through this movie. One of Brad’s worst.

A psychological and emotional movie -wasn’t expected that. Helps you appreciate life and despite all your best effort and best intentions some people do not want your help.

This is an astounding film. Beautifully shot. Carefully paced. One of those films that has such an excellent sense of "place." Feels extremely authentic. HOWEVER- all of that is a facade in front of the real human story. If you've come to this movie looking for some space-faring high adventure, the movie will probably sail right over your head. And HEART. If you've ever locked horns with depression, prepare to be punched right in the face. The emotional resonance with Roy's story transported me. Roy's a hero NOT for his physical exploits, but for his bravery in facing what's eating him alive. Ad Astra SINGS. I'm about ten shades of loving this movie. WOW.

This is a sophisticated film with a nuanced plot line that tackles some very important existential questions. If you are expecting Guardians of the Galaxy, you better move on.
  • Action adventure??????

Apple has this classified as action adventure. This has neither action nor adventure. Thank goodness this was on sale. This movie is incredible slow. I guess it was ok for an art piece but that’s stretching it. You need to be in the mood for this movie. I just don’t know what mood that would be.

Movie is truly exceptional, the writing and also the visuals along with the acting is incredible. Not sure why there’s so many negative reviews. Truly a great film! A must watch, especially with a nice tv you’ll really appreciate this movie.
