Never Grow Old

I’m not sure how one could say “I like this movie”. It’s depressing in an almost visceral and tangible, way, and in that sense it’s a wonderfully well made film. At times I found it very hard to watch, as it’s draped in a perpetual dampness, creepy and with unflinching acts of violence. You really have to be prepared to get right down in the mud and strife with the characters if you choose to watch it. So to say “I liked it” feels a bit wrong... but this, IMO, is actually its greatest success.
